About
Expert Safeguarding Supervision, Mentoring and Consultancy to support DSLs and safeguarding teams, helping school leaders build robust systems, ensure statutory compliance, and foster confident, effective safeguarding practice.
Mission
My mission is to support schools in ensuring their safeguarding leaders feel confident, supported, and able to carry out one of the most vital roles in education. Safeguarding is both a professional and emotional responsibility, and those leading it deserve the time, space, and care they so often provide to others.
Through reflective supervision and expert consultancy, I work alongside school leaders and DSLs to create space for thinking, reflection, and growth. My aim is to strengthen confidence, support resilience, and enable clear, effective decision-making in complex situations.
I believe that high-quality safeguarding supervision is not an added extra, but an essential part of sustaining strong safeguarding practice. By offering calm, confidential spaces for reflection, I support schools to build not only effective systems, but a culture where safeguarding is thoughtful, supported, and sustainable.
At the heart of my work is a simple belief: when safeguarding professionals feel supported and valued, they are better able to make a meaningful difference to the children and families they serve.
Hello, I’m Kamelia
This is what led me to offer safeguarding supervision and consultancy for schools. I support school leaders and their DSLs by creating space for reflection, clearer thinking, and professional growth. My aim is to help strengthen confidence, build resilience, and support sustainable, effective safeguarding practice across the school.
I am currently completing a Master’s in Education Leadership, where my research focuses on the impact of safeguarding supervision on DSL wellbeing. This work continues to shape and strengthen my practice.
As a Chartered Management Institute registered manager, active network member, and conference speaker, I bring both professional expertise and practical, real-world insight. I have also shared my experience of effective supervision and safeguarding leadership at sector conferences.
My approach is warm, grounded, and rooted in experience. I believe that when safeguarding professionals feel supported and valued, they are better equipped to make a lasting difference to the children and families they serve.
I am currently a Director of Safeguarding in one of London’s most diverse and vibrant boroughs, with over 20 years’ experience supporting children and young people from reception through to sixth form. I am also a member of the Community of Practice for Safeguarding Supervision in Education (COPSiEE).
Through my work, I see first-hand the responsibility carried by Designated Safeguarding Leads. It is a role that requires constant balancing of care, compliance, and complex decision-making, often in fast-moving and emotionally demanding situations. Finding time to pause, reflect, and restore can be difficult, yet it is essential.
