Empowering and Supporting Designated Safeguarding Leads to lead safeguarding practice with clarity, confidence, and resilience.

I’m Kamelia, a Director of Safeguarding in one of London’s most diverse and vibrant boroughs, with over 20 years’ experience supporting children and young people from reception through to sixth form.

As a Director of Safeguarding in a busy London borough, I understand all too well the responsibilities that Designated Safeguarding Leads carry — balancing care, compliance, and complex decision-making in fast-moving situations. The emotional and professional demands can be heavy, and finding time to reflect, restore, and grow within the role is often difficult.

That’s why I provide safeguarding supervision and consultancy designed to empower and support DSLs across all areas of education. Through reflective supervision and tailored guidance, I help create space to think clearly, strengthen confidence, build resilience, and sustain wellbeing — so you can continue leading safeguarding practice with clarity, compassion, and confidence.

As a Chartered Management Institute–registered Manager, active network member, and conference speaker, I bring a wealth of knowledge, empathy, and real-world insight to every session.

About Me

“Supervision enhances and restores clarity, confidence and resilience in safeguarding practice”.

My Approach

The SAFE Framework underpins all of my supervision work — a structured yet flexible model designed to support reflection, strengthen decision-making, and promote professional growth.

In each session, I use my personally developed SAFE Framework, which focuses on:
Support – creating psychological safety and containing emotional load.
Analyse – sharpening thinking and decision-making in complex safeguarding cases.
Focus – reinforcing leadership identity and role clarity.
Elevate – turning reflection into action, growth, and resilience.

My Mission

My mission is to ensure that every Designated Safeguarding Lead feels supported, confident, and equipped to carry out one of the most vital — and often most demanding — roles in education. Safeguarding is both a professional and emotional responsibility, and those leading it deserve the same care, reflection, and containment that they provide for others.

Through reflective supervision, and expert consultancy, I aim to empower and support safeguarding professionals to navigate their roles with clarity, confidence, and resilience. I believe that effective supervision is not a luxury, but an essential safeguard for those safeguarding others. By creating calm, confidential spaces for reflection and growth, my goal is to strengthen professional practice, enhance wellbeing, and build a culture of compassionate, sustainable safeguarding across education.

How I Work

My 1:1 supervision sessions take place virtually online, once every half term, using my personally developed SAFE Framework — a structured yet flexible model that offers Support for the emotional demands of safeguarding, Analysis of practice and decision-making, a clear Framework for reflection, and Empowerment to act with confidence.

Every school and setting is different, and I take time to understand your context, pressures, and priorities. I work collaboratively and flexibly — tailoring my approach to what you and your organisation need most. My aim is to provide a balance of reflective space, professional challenge, and emotional containment, helping you build clarity, resilience, and sustainable safeguarding practice that supports both your professional effectiveness and personal wellbeing.
